Perfect Apple Pie
Hey everyone!
So i'm a baker and I love to cook and so i decided to share a few of my favorite recipes. This first one is an apple pie recipe that I put together and it never lets me down. Everyone that has tried it enjoys it. This recipe is for an apple pie that is in the pictures, but the recipe I enjoy more in the all butter pie crust recipe below substituted fore the top one however, it is much harder to thread with it so it doesn't look as pretty even thou it takes better. You decide!
Hope u enjoy it!

ingredients:
3 cups of flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup cold water
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
apple filling:
6-8 apples
1/2 cup sugar (may add some brown sugar too)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup caramel
*1/4 cup nuts of your choice, optional

1.) in a mixing bowl, mix salt and flour
2.) Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut in shortening until the mixture is about the size of peas
3.) Measure water accurately. Pour into mixture while stirring with the fork
4.) Gather ball with hands and divide into 2 balls, having one a little larger than the other
5.) Roll out the smaller one with a rolling pin, making a circle larger than the size of your pie pan
6.) put into pie pan and fill with apple mixture (to put into the pan neatly, fold the flat dough in half and the in half again, making it easier to pick up, then lay into your pan.)
7.) after apple mix in in, roll out second ball ( the larger one)
8.) make your design and trim edges, seal with a fork.
9.) Bake for 50-60 min
10.) Let it cool down a little, and then enjoy with some vanilla ice cream and whipped cream!

Filling instructions:
1.) peel, core and slice apples thinly lengthwise
2.) In mixing bowl, combine apples with ingredients
3.) put in pasty and cover top with the rest of the other half of the dough.

This crust is more easier to make, but the looks are not like in the pictures.
